We understand the need for children to be rewarded for their hard work, dedication and effort spent developing their gymnastics. We have therefore our very own Salto Awards Scheme. This awards programme will focus on boosting the confidence of our members and helping them feel a sense of pride in their achievements. Our Awards Scheme is open to all our members and will form the content taught in our classes, enabling the gymnasts to develop their gymnastics skills. The awards go from Level 1 to Level 9 followed by Bronze, Silver and Gold. When a gymnast successfully passes the award a certificate and medal can be presented to them during their class. Not only does the awards scheme monitor the gymnasts progress, it also enables us to grade them based on their ability and offer an alternative class to enhance their performance and development.
Our “Junior gym” classes will aim to focus on the foundations that underpin our sport and provide a backbone to long term success. Your child will be introduced to a variety of apparatus, shapes and challenges to build their strength, co-ordination, flexibility and courage. (awards 1-3).
Our “Improvers” classes will develop the foundations built in our junior gym classes and challenge your child to develop their range of skills even further. (awards 4-6).
Our “Advanced” (awards 7 to 9) will focus on developing advanced gymnastics skills

Your child does not need to move up a level if they do not want to – this is your choice. However, if they remain in the same level, they may not fulfil their potential and may feel unchallenged.

Our recreational classes are not competitive classes – they are focused on fun, enjoyment and developing confidence in gymnastics. Our awards scheme will not be a competitive process. It is designed to provide a pathway for progression for each of our gymnasts while rewarding their effort, ability and dedication.
Each child develops and learns at their own pace. Additionally, they will have different strengths and weaknesses. Our awards system does not just focus on skill development – it is open-ended, progressive and encompasses all the physical characteristics in gymnastics e.g. flexibility, strength, balance, co-ordination, cardiovascular fitness. Therefore, there will be plenty of areas your child can develop in and work towards achieving the badge in the following terms.
